If you are visiting Korea and want to see Busan, the K-Tour Pass can cut your travel costs this autumn. Korea’s tourism ministry and the Korea Tourism Organization started this pilot on October 1, 2026, and it is for foreign visitors only. It costs ₩15,000 (about US$11) and gives you up to 40% off a one-way train or bus trip to Busan (capped at ₩24,000), plus one free attraction in Busan. Buy it online through Klook or HopnHop. The transport benefits and mobile tickets are valid until December 31.

What is the pass?

Busan is the first region, chosen because it gets the most foreign visitors outside Seoul. The goal is to make travel beyond Seoul cheaper and easier. Money Today, Oct. 1 (in Korean), Korea Tourism Organization (English).

What is included

There are two types, both ₩15,000.

TypeWhat you get

Marker-drawn train, price tag, card and admission ticket all linked to one star badge, with the handwritten note 'one pass for both'

Where do I buy it and get the card?

  • Buy: Sold on the travel platforms Klook and HopnHop (app and website).
  • Physical card (optional): Pick it up at a kiosk at Seoul Station, Busan Station, or Incheon, Gimpo or Gimhae airports with your 8-digit reservation number and your passport. If you fly straight into Gimhae, you can collect it on arrival.
  • Card features: It is a WOWPASS card, which works as a transit card and, once topped up with Korean won, like a debit card. You top it up separately before use, and the card is said to stay valid for up to 6 years.
  • Deadline: The transport benefits and mobile tickets are valid until December 31, 2026.

Bring your passport to pick up the card. The kiosk checks your 8-digit reservation number and your passport.

Who it suits, and who it does not

A good fit

  • You arrive in Seoul and plan a trip to Busan
  • You will take a train or bus to Busan before the end of the year
  • You want transit, payment and one attraction on a single card

Not a great fit

  • Korean residents cannot buy it (foreigners only)
  • If you fly directly into Busan and take no train or bus, the discount is small
  • You get only one free attraction, so compare other passes if you plan to see many Busan sights

FAQ

Can a Korean friend buy it for me? It is for foreign visitors only, so the user must be a foreigner. Check the Klook or HopnHop product page for the purchase steps.

Is it useful in Seoul? The AREX Express discount and the transit card work there, but the free attraction and the partner discounts are in Busan.

Will it continue next year? According to Money Today, next year’s budget for it is set to triple to ₩9 billion. No expansion to other regions has been announced yet.

How long is it valid? The transport benefits and mobile tickets are valid until December 31.
